Richard Wagner spent over 25 years creating his stage festival “The Ring of the Nibelung,” a monumental work that stands unparalleled. Dmitri Tcherniakov staged the tetralogy in 2022, presenting it cyclically with four premieres in a single week, and now it returns to the Staatsoper stage for the FESTTAGE. In addition, Anton Bruckner’s 8th Symphony, conducted by Zubin Mehta, and the participation of the Opera Children’s Orchestra with music by Antonín Dvořák and a world premiere mark the festival’s celebration of the composer’s 200th birthday.
